Value wise these dont really command much of a premium. This is a pretty common thing on cents. Just a minor strike through. Good eyes tho!! :eek:dd:

thanks for the reply. i'm really new to error coin collecting and i have a lot to learn. is there any value for coins with two rims? i have a 1971 half dollar with a doubled rim. (i've included a pic of it).. also, should i create a new thread for each coin i have a question about or do i just keep the current thread going while discussing different coins? i know, probably a silly question to you but i just don't want to irritate anyone but doing things wrong on here.. lol..

Got a larger photo of that half dollar? Also it's best (for me at least) to start a different thread for each coin, it's less confusing when describing things.

here's a bigger pic of the 1971 double rim. although i'm not sure what it's technically called.

Actually it looks the same size. I was hoping for a shot of the whole half dollar. I'm thinking from the photo it was encased.

It looks like a misaligned die so minor it adds no value.

Good Morning... as per your request I took a picture of the entire obverse side :) I think even if it has no added value it's still kind of cool. The coin is so much nicer in hand. It's hard to get good pic's of my coins as there's a beaming light on the scope I use. What do you use to take pic's? Thanks! Penny

does anybody know how to post bigger pic's on here?
i keep changing the size of the pic's but they appear the exact same size on here.... arrgghh... lol
yeah, the 1971 half is cool to see (well at least to me). at the bottom it looks like two separate rims. really well defined groove between them. i ordered a box of halves from my bank and found some interesting pieces. i've found several without the "FG" but i don't think they're valuable errors. not enough to have me try and sell them. i order boxes of pennies all the time and have found and sold the 1997 double ear lincoln. i sold it for only 85.00 for a quick sale. i also found the 1955 D double eyelid Lincoln penny. i haven't sold it yet because it's a little scratched at the bottom. i don't think i would get alot for it and it's soooo awesome to see i might just keep it for myself. since i learned of "error coins" i'm like addicted! lol
