Hello, I found this penny and noticed the rim seems to have been struck off center erasing the "L" in Liberty and pushing the "I" off it's position. Is this rare? Thanks
I have came across a coin almost identical, I took it to a dealer and he said it is hard to put a price on a coin like this but he believes it is not too rare. Still a nice find!
I thought it was, I've never seen the whole "L" missing like that, and the "I" pushed over like that, a first for me.
I was shocked too! Even if i don't make a fanatical gain it is a great addition to my ever expanding error collection.
Another hobby of mine is fishing, I see this as a similar exercise, the hunt is fun in itself, and if you catch something, that's a bonus.
