I pulled this George from a new denver roll back when they first came out, and finally got around to sending it in to ngc. Being fairly new to errors and totally new to ngc, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was hoping for a dual designation, something like.. missing edge + off center ob. Like I said, I'm a newb. So I get back this Partial collar. I've been watching ebay ever since I found it, and have not seen another, and I was wondering how this would compare to a regular missing edge value wise. I'm also curious why it didn't still get sent through the edging step which I think comes after the striking, unless it was weeded out by there new machines, but if that was the case, how did it get back into circulation? would it be inappropriate to use "missing edge lettering" as a sub-description when I go to sell it? thanks for any thoughts.
They wouldn't have said offcenter obv, since it is a mis-aligned die, no biggie. however, missing edge lettering would be okay in the subtitle.
I would re-submit it at NGC, It should state both errors on the slab, also the fact that it is ms67 is a big plus..........$$$$$$$
