Missing couple (last seen on I-95 headed to NY) had many thousands of dollars worth of rare coins with them, MSNBC just said. No word on the type of coins mentioned in the story with the link though??? http://www.charlotte.com/mld/observer/news/local/16212059.htm
This type of thing is happening more and more---one family from around here went missing a few months back while taking a boat trip on the ocean---top Gov. police and such can't find anything---- In most cases I have to say that there isn't much hope out there to hold on that they will be ok---if they were ok most people would have made contact in someway or another---but maybe I just get that kind of thinking from hanging aroun too many "cops" (Police officers hate it when people call them cops BTW!) Too keep this on topic---I wonder what type of coins they had with them and I wonder what they were doing with them.... Speedy
Not sure, but they are questioning the son, who stayed in N.C. I'll bet they know what type of coins are involved and may have "ahem, questioned persons-of-interest." Just something to be aware of if your in the area and may be offered a (deal you can't refuse), so to speak.... Normally, when rare coins are involved in a crime they turn-up someplace.
Sadly, the couple was found dead in North Carolina! They apparently ran off I-95 into water and were either killed in the wreck or drowned in their' submerged car. So far, there are no indications of foul play. Frank
Were the coins found with them? That would be a hint as to whether or not there was foul play. The Other Frank
Frank, As of 7 AM this morning, there has been no mention whatsoever about the coins! It may be a day or two before the Media and Law Enforcement gets around to that little tidbit. However, if there is no signs of foul play found, they may not even mention the coins. The Other, Other Frank
The Other, Other Frnak: Please read postings under: What's it Worth: "57` & `59` silver proof sets" Awaiting your response. The Other Frank
Wayne Guay, 57, a retired city sanitation worker, was a longtime collector of rare coins. http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/479442p-403225c.html Authorities had been stymied by the couple's disappearance. There was speculation of foul play because family members had said the couple was traveling with cash, rare coins and Christmas presents. http://www.centredaily.com/mld/centredaily/news/nation/16217588.htm Very sad ending...
