So, 2 days ago I bought a nice republican denarius of MN Fonteius at a show. I was keeping it in a mylar flip in my front pocket. Last night I checked my pocket and it was gone. I searched my hotel room and the area surrounding the hotel. I even checked with the restaurant I had dinner at last night, all to no avail. I hope the new owner whoever they are enjoys their coin. I only had it for about 2 days but I do miss it.
Sorry to hear that . Do you think it fell out of your shirt pocket when leaning forward? Maybe it fell out while getting into or out of your car.
I offer my regrets as well---I lost a coin a few months ago....a common LRB, but it still annoys me....I hope you find it in the 'crevices' of your car.
I was looking like mad when I lost my Theo II cross coin recently, fortunately found it (in time!). Piece of advice: when carrying an ancient with you, put it in a safe place inside your wallet. Then, only take out and open your wallet when you have to, taking care that the coin (or anything else important) doesnt fall out.
oh man, bummer! call back to the hotel and restaurant in a few days, maybe someone will turn it in orfew. lets hope.
I spent the last month running some dirty coins through the whole water and olive oil process. I started with a dozen and now I have eleven--I'm bummed out and I don't even know what the missing coin looked like (I think it was small and round, but that's mostly just conjecture).
Thanks for the kind words. I called the taxi company but noone has turned in any lost items. Silly me I thought it would be safe in my front pants pocket. As for my wallet it does not have a section for storage. I will call the hotel back in couple of days
