Sorry, but it's just environmental damage. Your coin probably spent some time in the ground. The clad layer is actually 75% copper.
Yes to Environmental Damage caused by exposure to the elements. Sand, soil, dirt, chemicals and water will tone the Cupro-Nickel clad. Nickels are also made of Cupro-Nickel and suffer the same Environmental toning damage. Here are many examples from my metal detected finds..

well after changing my course i found what i believe is the mother of no clad.im not sure what to do with it next.
