In my 6 months of hunting I just started learning about different aspects and the most recent is PMD and missing clad layers. I want to make sure I'm seeing things correctly and not just because I have been researching it but came across a bunch of rolls that someone brought to the bank of the state quarters and I thought this was a dirty end but the more I look at it was wondering if anyone could get their thoughts. Thank you! IMG_0012.JPG IMG_0013.JPG

This is definitely not missing a partial clad layer. While some people might classify this as environmental damage, it may be that the roll was not stored under optimal conditions.

Thanks Chris. I had a sneaking suspicion as it was a very different look but wishful thinking I guess. The outside of the role looks totally fine too. Weird

Nice to see a topic called this and have a legitimate question. Most are like metal detecting find found in circulation.
Not missing a layer but definitely oxidized or something.
Some people would call it toning.

Thanks! I'm fascinated by this the more I research it. In all the CRH I do, I'm keeping an eye out for these too. I can imagine much harder to find as there's lots of searchers out there. Makes it all the more interesting. If anyone has any more tips on the topic, I'm up for more info!
