Looks genuine to me. Cannot be a die set-up piece because strong/weak areas next to each other. I see no evidence of acid as surface looks original. IMO Struck through.
Plus reverse has copper clad starting to show through - something started removing the cupro-nickle layer - AKA acid
Just asking...Have any of you "acid heads" EVER put an acid on a coin? If you reply yes. I want to know what the acid was, its approx. strength, and the composition of the coin. THEN tell us all what you saw and what it smelled like (if you remember). I would buy that coin in a second because it looks 100% original in the photo.
I don't see anything that looks original to me. We probably don't see or use the term original in the same way. Folks will never agree on the use of the term.
when I find cents that people have said were acid...the coins were porous. would that not happen with a quarter?
