I have a miss stamped penny. At least a 1/4 of the penny is off to the side. The only date I can see is the year 19. It appears to be new. Both sides are miss stamped. Can you tell me if this is worth anything?
My question is, do you have a U.S. cent, or a British (or British Commonwealth country) "penny"? If it's a cent, it's off center in the wrong direction to have much premium value. U.S. error collectors like coins with readable dates much better, and although it may have a small premium, it won't be much. If it's a penny, it's probably not worth a premium, as error collection is primarily a U.S. category. If you can post a picture in the Error World Forum, you can probably get a more definitive answer; or you could do an internet search for Mike Byers or Fred Weinberg, the two best known U.S. error dealers.
I have a miss stamped penny. At least a 1/4 or more of the penny is off to the side. I can not see the date. It appears to be newer not a wheat penny. I see half of Lincoln's head. Both sides are miss stamped. Can you tell me if this is worth anything? Janetta
I also have a Chinese general on front very old at least 50+. Flower or leaves on back with a symble in the middle.
Howdy Janetta - Welcome to the Forum !! Based on your description it sounds like you have what is known as an off-center error. They are worth a few bucks but that's generally about it.
