I used to collect U.S. silver coins when I was younger but haven't done it in quite a while so i'm out of the loop. I have recently stumbled across a penny that has the outline of the united states stamped over the face of it. Is this an error or did they do that for a certain period of time?. If this is an error what would it be worth if its in fair condition? I need the help of some of you who know "a lot" more about coins than myself. Any input would be greatly appreciated. thank you.
i will try to post a picture. what is a counterstamped coin. is this when someone stamps it on thier own. after it was released?
Welcome to the Forum. As Captainkirk stated that is what it sounds like. Picture will help to determine. Rhubarb
