I cannot tell if this is a true 1955 DD. To me, it really does not like one, and the "die cracks" just look like PMD. Anyone else agree with me on these observations? http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-1955-DOUBLE-DIE-PENNY-US-COIN-LOTS-ERROR-IIBE_W0QQitemZ260170532141QQihZ016QQcategoryZ139805QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
If you read far enough down in the listing description, the Seller notes that the coin is a PMDD (Poorman's Double Die)! Frank
Yeah I saw that the second time. By the light of the picture, he probably saw something that resembled a Porrman's, but what about those "die cracks"?
I reckon it's a Poor Man's Double Die... BUT the title and first line are as misleading as all hell. If you're going to sell a PMDD then list it as same. I absolutely HATE sellers like this.
I think its definitely a "poor man's double die" but not actually the poor man's double die but the a poor-poor man's double die. I have one of these I found in some wheat cents and if I were to sell it on ebay Id list it at 9.99 or best offer and hope for 5 bucks ;-)
A quick search on google will get you pictures of the 55DD.. Who would buy that? I have two rolls of 1955D's in better looking shape than that. I'd gladly sell my all my 55D's for $10 each.. lol
