$875 for an ounce of gold!

    Looking ahead to 2007:

    27.95 (Proof ASE) + 2750 (Proof Platinum Eagles) + 1575 (Proof Gold Eagles) + 37.95 (Silver Proof Set) + 23.95 (50 Q Silver Proof) + 22.95 (Proof Set) + 15.95 (50 Q Proof) + 1200 (First Spouse Bullions) + X (Commem. 1) + X (Commem. 2) = $5747.80 + 2X.

I am assuming on cost of the Gold proof coins and this doesn't include bullion coins, but it is probably going to be somewhat close. So who's buying all the Mint products next year? ;)

I treat gold commemoratives as bullion products, and will only buy them when prices approach bullion prices. I'll occasionally buy a silver commem as a gift for someone, but I wouldn't collect them.

I really want those first lady coins but they are overpriced.
