I tried searching online to find where I initially read this. I couldn't find anything so it may have been read in a recent coin world weekly. I remember reading something that stated for the mints anniversary the offering was going to be the same design as 2017 American Liberty gold coin as shown below. But in four medal set with different finishes. Anyone else heard of this or have more info?
I also found the article again it's in the Coin World weekly Jan, 9, 2016 Vol. 58, Issue 2961, on page 35 & 37. Apparently the reverse design hasn't even been revealed yet besides what the committee recommended for a design. Hopefully they select a different design as I don't think the wings down in flight eagle they recommended was the best looking choice. Article also says that they'll be struck on ASE plancets again for the silver medals but in lower relief and with four different finishes one produced at each mint branch, Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco and West Point.
