mintage limit vs product limit

    so on the us mint website for the 1/4oz gold eagle it said this


    Mintage Limit: 30,000
    Product Limit: 10,000







    what does that mean? they seem like the same thing but why the 20,000 difference?

    The coin is/will be/could be offered in other products. The mintage limit is for the coin in all products.
