I'm trying to figure out where the mint tends to distribute first, where they don't distribute and so on. Just a general idea would be good. If anyone out there has seen any 2009 coinage just post where you are and the approximate date you found it. Just the month works. Thanks. I'll post a map once I get enough replies.
Well here is a thread that shows who has not seen any 2009 coinage. I have found cents only and I do not recall when I first saw them.
If it weren't for for the '09 'Territories' quarters, you'd have an easy job, and a pretty clean map. Besides the quarters, and the errant Lincolns, noone is finding anything. Seems Puertico Rico had a run on the '09-P nickels or dimes, can't recall (long night, brain hurts, could have been both), but thats about it. I haven't heard of ANYONE on any forum I'm on, that found an '09-D dime or nickel, and a few errant reports of the P dimes/nickels. I know a few were found in Mass, can't recall when, though.
The MINT distributes to the Federal Reserve Banks. How and whre they go from there depend on what area is ordering coins and what the Fed happens to have on hand when the order comes in. Orders are filled with circulated coins first if the Fed has them so all come down to luck.
