Mint set with openable lid = damage?

I have received a couple of non-US mint sets, both look standard and the coins are OK considering they are 50+ years old, but it seems the sets are not sealed. The lid can be easily removed which allows full access to the coins. I have seen same sets before, the lid is not supposed to be openable.

Is it commonly considered as damage? As far as i understand, the whole idea of a mint set is to seal it and preserve the condition and grade of the coins inside. If it is conisdered damage, what would be the value loss, 25%? 50%?

And another issue. One of those sets was described as certain years set, which means all coins should be from same year. Out of 5 coins, only 3 are from the mentioned year, other 2 are from different years. Considering the fact it came with unsealed lid, this is not really a mint set anymore, its just a plastic box with some coins inside, god knows where they came from. Am i right?

Can you be more specific about what exactly you are talking about ? Like a mit set from what country and what year ?
