Can anyone comment about this ebay item #300550864630? It looks like the mintmark is way out of place but on the other hand, it's not like its listed in the redbook as an error coin or anything. Would this dime be worth making an offer on if the mintmark were out of place? Thanks:thumb:
Melt value? The seller knows much about coins. He claims the coin for sale should grade fine to AU. IMO it looks like a D mint mark in the seller's fuzzy photo.
It looks a little higher than normal but it doesn't seem to be touching anything, and it is in the area where they normally put the mintmark so I don't see anything wrong with it. Since they were punched by hand there will be some variation of placement and tilt, so it isn't a mint error at all. I'd say it's worth about melt.
