While digging for something else, I ran across a part roll of 1960 pennies, 40 in all. Most of them look like the enclosed scan. Lots of luster, some toning seems present on some as well. The question is: spend them, give em to the paper girl, or worth putting aside? They seem to be a bit better than MS60, but that is to my unskilled eye. Opinions?
You could have some gems in there but there's no real market for even those at the present time unless it's an error or variety. I'm going to go with worth putting aside.
Like Eddiespin said, there isn't much market value, but they are too nice to spend. I would still keep them. It's only 40 cents. You can always give them to newbie at some point in the future
If you have 40 that nice, I'd put 20 aside and give 20 to someone else who would also really enjoy them. But thats just me.
I'm inclined to agree with both of the above. I was struck with the luster on most of the coins. Many of the things I collect have minimal value, but are interesting to me for a variety of reasons. If I were shipwrecked on a desert island, I'd collect different colored grains of sand.....
Do you see any doubling on that coin? Especially on the reverse? Maybe my eyes are very tired. I wish I could see closer views of your photographs. The large and small versions of your photographs are exactly the same.
That 1960 looks like an LD, I can't tell for sure. A 1960 small date (Philly) in that condition has value.
Down at the penny unless you find a real rarity there is nothing to guard. Even a 1000% increase in value isn't much.
