Minor die clash 1883 reverse

Just found this in a roll and thought I would post a picture of it.

If you have photo software on your computer, try creating a transparent overlay of the obverse and see if Lincoln's head matches. By the way, if it is a clash, the field within the clash should be slightly below the remaining surface of the field. What does the obverse look like?

I tried a transparent overlay and it matches. Also, the area IS slightly below the rest of the field.

I think it's pretty clear that there's clash marks there. Nice find.

 

very cool,i just picked up one a couple weeks ago with the same thing.if you notice lincoln is missing

 

Check the obverse very carefully and see if there is any transfer there. A clash from the reverse might show up anywhere.

here is a pretty clear photo of the 83 I have.at the straight on angle,you cant really see the "head" clash area.but it looks like the previous coin at that angle.
