I've been trying to attribute this properly for nearly a year now. It has all the markers for Minnesota DDR #50, as pictured, but looks nothing like the examples listed by Wexler or Potter(vertical gouge in front of boat,pre-crack dep. at left end of bust,NNE gouge/scratch from tip of fishing pole tree,gouge to right of D in GOD). I do believe I see the minor branch doubling to the bottom left of the usual tree, but the clear arched line running from same tree to rock leaves me believing this coin also as a frustratingly placed clash. I hope you appreciate the time i've spent going through the 100+ listings for this variety type over and over etc. A little clarity or confirmation will let me move on. Thanks to any responses and as always, sorry if the pics are rough.
I know this one very well because I found lots of them while trying to find the DDR 001 coins. This is from a die clash , I have rolls of them around here somewhere.
I'm not sure about that because I have never researched it very much. The only Minn. Doubled dies I'm interested in are the top ten ones. IMO the error guys went crazy on the Minnesota quarters and called even the tiny stuff DDRs
Yes they certainly did. I wouldnt have gone so far with this one if it wasn't for the clash being right in the hot zone. Ive found 2 of the ddr-001's if only because it's staring right at you when you see it, I don't have any interest in any beyond the top ten myself. This one just drove me nuts so i promised myself to see it through! Thanks again rascal
