The largest note ever produced is the $100,000 gold certificate. It was only used for transactions within the Federal Reserve system. Question for you, Isaac: Whose portrait is on the $100,000 note? Chris
It's actually the $100,000 note you are referring to. Even though there was no $1M bill, $100,000 during the early 1930's would be more than $1M in today's dollars when adjusted for inflation.
Any million dollar bill or any higher amount you come across is entirely bogus. The United States Government has never printed a $1,000,000 or any larger amount, and probably never will. If you see any picture of a bill supposedly worth $50 million or any other astronomically large amount, they are all bogus. Those are part of a Philippine scam involving trillions in unaccounted-for bonds. Aside from the fractional issues (which were printed during and after the Civil War in response to a shortage of coins and came in 3, 5, 10, 15, 25, and 50 cent values), the only denominations that have ever been printed by the United States Government are $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, $1,000, $5,000, $10,000, and $100,000. The last one was not intended for commercial use. As for Confederate currency, if you come across anything with a denomination of $10,000 or above, it's all fake. Be very vigilant before you buy any CSA money. That goes for Republic of Texas, Colonial or other commonly-faked currency.
If anyone had the right to print a $1 million dollar note, it would be Zambia. It takes more than 10,000 Kwacha to equal one US dollar. Chris
I have a $100 trillion note from Zimbabwe I bought some time in the past for $6 or so, looked on e-bay recently and they are going for over $20!!! Inflation?
Excuse me? This is your response to the best and most informative post in this thread? The man took time from his day and life in an attempt to help educate you, so the absolute least you can do is treat him with a little respect. He certainly deserves that much from you.
So, you didn't use Google, but I'm pretty darn sure that you didn't know the answer without searching somewhere. If I'm wrong, then it only proves that your ridiculous questions about various SQ's, nickel changes, etc. was nothing more than a bunch of crap and you're nothing but a troll. Chris
I really don't think you do because people have told you to use Google a lot and you go on asking dumb questions.
