So, yesterday I went to the local casino, played a little bit, won a little bit and went to the cage to break the 2 $100s the machine gave me into $20s. I played $100, left with $350 after about an hour on the machines, but that's not the highlight of the trip. As an afterthought I asked the guy for two rolls of quarters in the change. one was customer wrapped with folded ends probably by them in the cage, the other was a NF String, with a Marsh Billings Rockefeller ender and the other end was a state park obverse P mintmark, so my hopes were up! So, I went home, I opened the folded end customer wrapped roll first, about half of the roll was 2021P Washington crossing. other than that nothing special. Still though a few decent examples to hang on to. The NF String wrapper roll. was a BU roll of MBR Ps that had 5 W MBR quarters in it SCORE! the covid, the "coin shortage", everything standing in my way from coin roll hunting.... this changes everything for me. I'm going to go back to grinding it out, one or two rolls at a time if I have to. the feeling was like fishing, when it's such a hassle, and you likely get skunked, so you aren't too enthusiastic, but that one day, you decide to fish and you end up catching your personal best! So, coin roll hunting, the misses are discouraging, BUT stick to it and do what you can because your big fish will come. I'm going to go back today and see about getting a couple more rolls!
@John Burgess: wrap a bunch of quarters and trade with them. They open all boxes of coins they receive. Ask them for only the new rolls. Worked out well for me.
Sooo.i went back after work to the casino. I didn't lose! Another hour and made another $50 Went to the cage asked for 2 more rolls 9f quarters and this time both are NF string wrappers. One roll has new 2021 obverse enders im assuming a whole BU roll of Washington crossing. The other roll is both park obverse enders and I have no idea of what the design is this time. What will it be? The park roll shows some age i think..... maybe older than 2019 even... Stay tuned for this hunts results!
Well. Gonna end the suspense right here. Lol. The 2021P roll was in fact a BU roll of Washington crossing. None of them in good enough condition to hang on to. Nicks and dings and water spots on them... blah. The other roll was another Marsh Billings Rockefeller roll. All P mintmarks and all of them just really poor condition just like the enders White hazy stains on all of them. Like someone left lithium grease on em and it dried up. Oh well, they all can't be winners. I did pick up 3 2021 D nickels in the loose change which is really rare this early. I usually only see Ps. So my Jefferson nickel book is current again until next year. Gotta appreciate the little things!
