WOW... I dont know how else to describe the way things were today at the show. There were KIDS everywhere. Including a boy scout troop!. A ton of activity. In talking to most of the dealers today the general concensus is that selling was good to great,. Buying was awesome. Alot of people are unloading small hoards. (econiomic times?) I spent most of the day there learning and listening to stories etc from the dealers. I did manage to pick up a few items myself. More Franklins. HA HA speedy.. some decent large cents. vf-xf. 1899 MS64 Morgan, 1928 MS63 Peace, Did not find the 09S IHC still. Seen a few, just couldnt get the price to match the coin. One was graded XF and priced as such, (Actaully a tad high) but I could only squueze a VF out of it. Just not enough there for me to pay the extra. Seen a nice 1886S Morgan, should of gotten that, I kicked myself all the way home on that one. All in all. a nice show. Well worth the visit and time given. As stated in another post,. I talked to ANACS at this show, Miles is back with PCGS and James T, is going to ICG effective 01-01.

Be glad that you passed on it, as the saying goes: "Buy in haste, regret in leisure." (At least that is how I have found it). But, as often as we pass on a piece, we look back and kick our selves. I passed on a 1901 S PCGS Barber quarter, graded G-6, at $3,000. He 'hadda get' VG money at the time. Today it was a steal and I still don't have an '01 S. So....keep looking, you'll find the right piece.
I think some Franklins are undered priced--way to go! On the IHC---keep on looking--mine was graded VF and was priced at BID of VF---most of the time my dealer prices at a little lower than BID but this was one I couldn't pass up---since it was being a key I thought the extra was worth it. But I sure know what you mean about people overgrading key dates such as the 09-S IHC. Speedy
Speaking of franklins, after seeing you postin gthis morning, I went to a local coin show, I couldn't resist a very nice 1955 Franklin, very choice BU (heck it may even 65, in my dreams) clean cheek and clean fields, and full bell lines and no major marks on the reverse. Best part was that I got it for only $20.
I do beleive that the 55 is the sleeper int he set. Is it the Bugs variety? I pick up 55's whenever they catch my eye. 20 is not a bad price for a nice coin.
Jim: Nope, not the Bugs Bunny type. But still, nice clean surfaces. Looks like an original color, white. And I had forgotten that I never got around to getting one. Thanks to your posting, I realized it, and spotted one in a showcase yesterday. So, now I can rest assured that I have one and that it has found a good home-- mine!
