Mexican silver coinage going up???

    With the recent rumor/report of the Mexican Silver Miners going on strike do you think there will be an increase over melt for some of the classic Mexican Silver pieces? I've always felt they were the most artistic pieces of the Americas.

    I don't think so. Even if the strike lasts a year or more, it will just be a tiny blip in the long history of Mexican silver mining. Besides, a complete and permanent shutdown of the Mexican silver mines wouldn't affect the number of classic pieces in existence and isn't likely to affect demand for them.

    I'm glad I got a roll of each a few years ago though. Mexican/Spanish silver has always intrigued me :)
