    Greetings,

I need a little help. I got a coin at the flea market for 8 bucks and I did a little research on the net and found out it may be a fake. well I know it maybe fake because it says "COPY". Just want to make sure

Here is a photo taken from coinandhistory.com

    Yes it is a copy.

I dont understand why you would ask that or have to look on the internet to "check".
    It's printed on the coin!!
COPY right there are you thinking that someone would take a real one and take the time to stamp copy on it?

what I mean by fake is it somewhat like a reproduction or just a counterfeit?

Since it says copy, I'm goin with reproduction.

counterfeit implies deception. "Made in imitation of what is genuine with the intent to defraud"

thanks for the replies. another question: does the mexican mint ever put "copy" on reproductions?

I doubt it. It was most likely made for collectors by a private mint.
