Metal Detecting & Fishing - Both can be enjoyed on the same day!

This morning I did a 4 hour Metal Detecting hunt. Just US Coins, Clad and Cents with 7 Wheat Cents. No silver today

Then I did some light fishing with medium and light rods..

8 Sea Bass. All returned unharmed!

1952
1955 - 2 each (no DDO)

 

I'm super tired. Going to sleep early!

Fun day. Those little bass are fun to catch on a light rod.

 

Even a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work
And some coffee money

 

The grandkids come out to our place and fish sometimes.

 

I wish my kids and I could catch a fish that size. We only catch bluegill in the lake near us. Fun for the kids but I’d like a bit of a challenge.

 

We have 10 to 15 pound catfish in there too. I will search for a photo of one.

 

@furryfrog02 I like to see kids catch fish. We stocked it with catfish and bass. Wish you could bring them here.

 

Just a short road trip See you in a few days haha.
We are actually leaving to spend a week in a cabin in the Poconos in PA. Looking forward to doing some fishing and hiking with the kids.

 

Paddy, those aren't Sea Bass, they're Baby Sea Bass. Glad you returned them to grow up. Sounds like you had a fun filled and enjoyable day.

 

This is the same area I have caught these and will when the time is right. Heavy rod time!

 

At least ~$5.50 in clad for 'free' is pretty nice in my opinion.

Also, nice view for fishing. But don't be like Crocodile Dundee and use dynamite. ;-)

@paddyman98 My pond is smaller than yours. My daughter just caught this 12.5 pounder a few minutes ago. This is not catch and release.
