I'm jealous! The 1916 dime is nice. That was a transition year, when the mint made both Mercury and Barber coins, so few coins or mintmarks were made in any great numbers, making most rare, and more valuable. I'll give you a quarter for it, hehe!
Nice.. some members including myself do metal detect! Thanks for sharing! https://www.cointalk.com/threads/official-metal-detecting-thread.272289/
Thanks everyone. I got a lot more hits but was chased off. Where I found it was in a park by the river. There is an old farm/ranch house there that the county historical society gives tours at during the summer. This time of the year no one is there. Figured it was a good opportunity to do some hunting but I guess it's not allowed. And I'm in the west. Pacific Northwest to be exact. I'm going to see if I can fort Vancouver thus summer. They can have what I find I just want to be the one to find it lol
all I did was let them is in some water to dissolve the dirt, oddly they were not that dirty seeing how they were about 6-8 inches deep. There is also an old abandoned mine shaft thats all gated off. I found a nice rock there a few weeks ago. looks to have silver in it. at least it was hitting silver and gold on my detector
honestly I never thought about it, I figured public park. and I wouldnt know who to ask anyway. Im not even sure that guy had the authority to kick me off anyway... but now I know
