    Hello everyone,

I've been busy with family issues and dealing with the passing away of my uncle Hector in Puerto Rico :(
I will be traveling soon for funeral and burial.

I haven't detected recently but I wanted to share some Cent clean-up results from my last detecting hunt here in NYC.

These were found in dirt that was treated with a lot of chemicals over the decades. I soaked them in water for 2 weeks then vinegar for 1 night.

If you tumbled these together in blue jean pocket lint and sand would they possibly wear enough to straight grade?
I like the era of time period. Find the silver/gold dump.

I'm sorry for your loss, @paddyman98.

That IHC looks like it had some meat on it when it was first buried. And I'm glad the pit under that 1909 date wasn't bigger -- we would've been wondering forever...

Paddy, first let me say I’m sorry to hear of your loss. Have a safe trip as you travel to pat your last respects to your uncle and his family.

As for the coins you posted, they look like zinc Cents that have been in the ground. That 1909 , well I had to enlarge the photo to see if that was a mint mark. Luckily it was not.

Out of 11 immediate family members I am the only one left. I cherish the memories as you will your uncle. It's only temporary we shall all meet again. God Bless!

That Indian Head looks like chipmunks tried taking bites out of it.

Have a safe trip. As sad as it is there is a bright side. You will get to see friends and family you have not seen in ages and some you may never get to see again.
