Wow, two SLQs in one outing- and a Barber dime to boot! That is awesome.

I remember waiting for my first V-nickel. Seemed to take forever. Finally happened, though, and I found more afterwards.

    What’s your next #1 goal?

Never did any MD. But, my brother and I found an 1886 V Nickel in our back yard. Were digging a hole while playing. It was bout 2 feet down. Nice find @paddyman98 and to get it off your bucket list.

Nice day for a dig. Bet you were surprised when you found all of them in the same hole. :)

I went today in search for a Barber Quarter.. 2 of the guys from our club that went today have found them in the past. Last week another 14 year old detectorist found a 25C Seated. That was impressive!

I’d say you’re on the right kind of site.

What are the characteristics of these sites that give up so many old coins? Were they parks or public function areas of some kind? I know in my home town there were many places where festivals, church picnics and other gatherings were held over a matter of decades. I mean decades even before I was born. Now that goes way back.

    Good question.

My 4 favorite parks in NYC..

Prospect Park goes back to the Revolutionary Era.
There have been Silver Spanish Reales found there.

Fort Green Park was created mid 1800's.

    Hunter Island is colonial.

My neighborhood park is 1937 and this year I found these silver there..

Oh.. Actually one more park.. McCarren Park.
    1800's also.

So, I'm guessing that these parks never got exposed to the development fever. Nice. Thanks.

That is quite an impressive haul @paddyman98. I believe that one of those quarters is a 1920-D.

Yes. They Both are D Mint. I only see the last digit on 1 of them which is definitely a 0

    So 1920 or 1930 :watching:

Oh wait.. there were no 1930 minted in Denver.

In my opinion, since a 1930-D has a recessed date, it is more than likely a 20-D.

Correction: The Denver Mint didn't produce any quarters in 1930.
