Hello everyone, I detected a new park today.. Astoria Park located in Queens NYC.. Nice place but no silver coins I did get a 925 Silver Ring A Sterling Silver pendant Buffalo Nickel (no date) 12 Wheats $1.00 Presidential and 1C Canada (1965) Everything
Nah, not upset.. Only a little dissapointed but you don't know how it feels when you detect and dig for 6 hours straight!
Love the Bling Bling !! A bad day of Metal Detecting is better that a good day at work or something like that .
Funny... I would expect that Astoria wouldn't have anything good underground. I hope you'll come back to Queens and try other areas - Maybe Flushing meadow park? Near where all the expressways meet? Anyway, I'm always interested to see your finds, but I do understand that it takes a lot of energy and time to search. Thanks for sharing what you find with us @paddyman98
You may not have found any silver coins but at least you did find silver. Nice little haul. Glad you got out as it rained for a day and a half here. Very soggy-your shovel would need holes in it if you detected here. But it did make the dirt soft.
Flushing Meadows was were the 1939 & 1964 World's Fairs were located. My dad's parents went to both. Bet my grandfather dropped a coin or two at both.
