    Hi all,
I metal detect yesterday for about 4 hours at my local park. A lot of fresh US Coin drops. I got 1 neat silver pendant and a 1944 Wheat Cent.

I also turned in all the coins I have been finding for the past several months at Coinstar.
Got me a little over $100.00

I know you have posted before about detecting at your local park. And it just floors me how much booty you dig up each and every time you go. That is just amazing to me....... Did you see the 1847-O eagle the fellow detected in the whats it worth section? Man, if I could come up with anything besides memorial cents I would be beside myself!

My brother lives in Wisconsin. A friend of his did some metal detecting at an old campsite of some kind. He found $20 gold piece in area where an old outhouse sat. We gave our oldest son a detector for Christmas one year. We lived in Iowa in a large old house built way back in the late 1800's. He wanted to take it out and search. It's cold and the ground is frozen, we said. He came in a few minutes later with an 1840 penny he found in a flower bed. Some people do have the luck.

It's always good for paddy but what also floors me is the level of carelessness and pollution people cause.

I've always wanted to do that. The little ranch we live on is right close to the route that the Mexican Army took after leaving the Alamo and heading to what is now Houston. It would be a shot in the dark, but isn't it always?

Can you get in to those? We did that when we were kids but these days they are surrounded by fences, gates and security.
