Mercury Dime Grading Help

Should I send this in to PCGS?

  1. I recently bought a few hundred Mercury dimes for really cheap and about 25 or so are in spectacular shape. I have one of the nicer ones pictured here.

    Can you grading experts help me determine a likely grade? Also, if it's a high grade do you think it is worth it to send it in to PCGS and have it slabbed?

    It would need to grade a 66 or higher to actually be worth sending in. Yes yours is probably a 63 or 64, but it wouldn't be cost effective to have it graded, in my opinion. Greysheet on a 39D in MS 65 FB is a whopping $34.

    That coin looks bu to me but short of gem grade. There are some minor ticks and it doesn't have anywhere near the luster need for MS65 or better. I grade that coin MS63 and it is not a full band coin. I definitely isn't worth grading. Realistically, your coin is worth $8-$10.
