A guy that works for me has some coins that he might be willing to sell me. They have been sitting in a very old National cash register his dad received as payment for a job. He took the register and all the coins in it. So far I have seen the tip of the iceberg and I am anxious to see the rest. Please tell me how this Mercury Dime would grade and what would be the approximate fair value for any like this from 1940 thru 1945. Some are a little worse and some just a little better. I have a couple different coins of interest I will post. Thanks Darryl
Looks to be in XF-40/45 condition and might fetch $5-$8 dollars each in this condition... Take Care Ben
I would say your coin grades XF 40. About 2 years ago or maybe 3, I was paying between $4 and $7 for XF and AU Mercs minted from 1940 thru 1945. Lou
Those are more common date Mercury Dimes and most of the time, unless in AU/MS condition, don't go for over more that their silver core melt value which today is $3.37 (Price is subject to change due to constant changes of silver spot price per Troy ounce.) -Brian
