Yeah--this coin is painful to look at, it looks like a zombie aka walker from The Walking Dead! :hurting:
It had me thinking...if I found it, would I keep it, or sell it for a few bucks--but how much? The seller wants $418; it's in an Anacs holder as "corroded/tooled", aka DOA

as we Numistmatists can be picky over terms like penny vs cent and double die vs doubled die...I feel the need to correct you here...they're walkers....not zombies :D

I'm pretty tired of the whole zombie trend, but I've got to go along with your description here.

Too bad about the coin. The reverse is pretty sharp.

Yeah--something highly corrosive like acid hit it, but the "cleaning" job sure didn't help either. :depressed:

This may prove that ANACS will grade anything.....

    ANACS didn't grade it .
The slab say corroded/tooled and thats not a grade ..
It's the same as if it were in a pcgs slab that says
    " Genuine " corroded/tooled ..

Here's the auction--the Anacs slab says "AU50 details", but I don't consider that a valid grade either. :depressed:

Not sure what the aftermarket wants for them. But it's probably less than $418.

That one is easy - if I found it I would sell it for what I could get.

Well the price had one too many numbers attached... That coin looks like the attractive girl that went overboard on plastic surgery.:bag: Or the wicked witch after you threw a glass on water on her face :troll::yack:

Pass. Too much damage especially at that price.

Definitely Zombiesque! I was at a coin shop and the owner had one half of a 14D Lincoln. He marked it down by 50%. I passed of course.

Wow--nice "logic" on that price! I don't think fractions work in this case LOL
I'm not looking to buy one attributed, especially not that disaster. I only wondered how much value this coin actually retains? I would guess less than half, more like 10% with that "eye appeal". :hurting: For any price, I would probably mask part of the slab so I didn't have to look at that damage.
