Merc. Dime from He##

Looks like it is on a steel or tin planchet - don't believe it is silver

What is it - how did she get that way - whats it worth

Found it in some junk coins I have.

It's obviously no coin at all.

It appears to be a button, or something similar, with the back attatchment broken off.

I wouldn't think it is worth anything.

 

Is it the size of a dime?

 

I don't have a Merc dime to compare it - but it is the same size as a Lincoln.

it looks to me like a vending machine slug. someone probaly made it and put it in a jukebox in the 40's. alot of people did this. since the machines did not have very good counterfeit detection(magnet), anything that was not attracted to the magnet was excepted. thats probaly what it is.

looks like a pattern electrotype to me, but that's just my optomistic opinion.

 

Then it is the size of a cent?

Or match it to any Roosevelt dime, it is the same size.
