    Howdy peeps, :)

Are there any CT'ers planning on going to the Coin & Currency Show next weekend in Memphis? :D I'm thinking of going early Saturday morning and was hoping to finally bump into another CT'er or two. :hail:

Only one member is going? There's gotta be more than that? :goof: Plus, I know you all don't want to let me have the entire show to myself, to cherrypick all the goodies, which I will be showing off Saturday when I get back. :D

We'll have to figure out some way of meeting, Ed. :hail: I'll be with Will Nipper so if anyone wants his book and to have him personally autograph it, he'll be there.

Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it there because it is about a 5 hour drive from my city.

The dealer's shop wouldn't be located behind Houston's - would it? I might be there - bad time of year for me.

I don't expect to find anything I want but I will go flush just in case. ;) Plus, it's a currency show so there will be more paper than coins and I am not a paper buff. :goof: I hope there will be some old copper since I can't find any around my turf. :(

Memphis Coin & Currency Show Update:

    I went, I saw, and I conquered! :D

Met my first CT member in person (Ed) and spent a little time with him but we were both more interested in the show and looking at everything, that we didn't spend much time together, plus, when he showed up, I had just located a binder with a couple dozen colonial coppers in it and Will Nipper and I were busy attributing them to see if there were any good ones in the lot. :D

The show wasn't huge but it wasn't small either. We spent 6 hours there and had a blast but I doubt Will's wife will ever let him go to a show with me, since we stayed an extra 3 hours longer than planned. :goofer:

    I picked up three coppers:

    1786 M2.1-A Connecticut (R-3):

    1787 M33.13-z.1 Connecticut (R-6):

The last two were upgrades to ones I already had. :eek:hya:

Hey Toad ....I had a great time at the show .It was a real pleasure to meet you and Will N......I started my first "short snorter" with Will Nipper being my first signature.
Now I wish I had seen you when it was time to leave and I would have got you to sign as well. Again nice meeting you
How do you think the 1802 Draped Bust grades.............cool cent!

The damage on the obverse is a planchet flaw, which are rare to find in the DBC's, so I'd give it a VG-10 to F-12 with planchet defect. I thought it was a steal @ fifty bucks. :D I paid $70 for the 1786 and $129 for the 1787 and I sold a Pidcock's Conder token for $100. :D The same person that bought the Conder wanted my Christ's Hospital Six Pence Token but I ain't part'n with that one. :pencil: Plus, he was eyeball'n my 1668 heart-shaped half-peny but I ain't part'n with it either! :D

I really enjoyed the show, even though it was primarily a currency show and it was awesome to finally get to meet a fellow CT'r. :thumb:

Ps: Did my ponytail surprise you? :D I doubt anyone here knows I have a ponytail.

Wow........You made me look up the heart shaped half cent on the net...have never seen anything like that . It is the one marked MILLTON. Those old coppers come in some cool shapes and sizes.
Did the ponytail surprise me? ...no not at all. When I saw you and Will I thought of George Carlin and Ron White, of course you being George
