Members of the FORUM, I WISH TO THANK YOU ALL. The amount of opinions and ideas which you have brought to the forefront have broadened my overall consideration on the subject of grading Roman Bronzes. It has become more difficult as demand is growing and people demand not only for historical pieces but the quality of coins as I have always collected as I consider Roman Imperial Bronzes and others works of ART. I have been collecting for 40 years and I am of the opinion I have only a little knowledge. Regards & thanks again Jeff
I whole-heartedly agree! I lurked for a couple years before I even made my first post. The info, knowledge, and history presented is fantastic from a wonderful group of people. I still sit on the sidelines to watch and cheer the Ancients Forum MUCH more than I contribute. I learn a lot just in the observations. I love the Art as you stated, but my collecting focus is on the rich HISTORY that the coins represent. I find that the more I learn from this site, the more that I do NOT know...
As an ardent collector of ancients for 25 years, I could not agree more -- ancient coins are miniature works of art and allow me to hold history in my hand. While I am new to CT, I have learned much from this group. My thanks to everyone for sharing their knowledge and opinions!
I understand completely. I've always been a non-ancient collector but after joining this forum last year I've found that there is a vast wealth in the knowledge all members have and I can share what a have learned myself. After communicating with several members and reading posts I have just recently starting collecting ancients. I know very little to nothing about them but they are fascinating. The history, the art work, etc. are indescribable. SwK, after 40 years of collecting, please share your coins and thoughts. You have learned a lot in that time and we would like to hear from you. Thanks, a newbie in ancients.
