I´m searching for informations about a medal. The material is brass or copper with a cover of gold. One side shows a profile of a man an the name HERR ALEXANDER an the initials C.C.W. The other side shows only the text: "PRESENTED TO HERR ALEXANDER AS A TESTIMONY OF ESEEM FROM HIS FRIENDS IN NEW YORK. 1847." Does anybody can say me more about this medal? Who was Herr Alexander?
