Maximinus IOVIO PROPAGAT ORBIS TERRARVM from Antioch

    I just won this fairly rare type only issued for Maximinus II. Antioch was the principal residence of Maximinus and, not surprisingly, issued some exceptional coins for him. This coin was struck shortly before his elevation to Augustus; and Maximinus was reminding Romans his relationship with Jupiter.

    The reverse translates roughly as -- To the Jovian [Maximinus] expander of the whole world
