http://cgi.ebay.com/1958d-Franklin-...a519a7552&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14#ht_3260wt_1010 PLEASE LET ME KNOW a good max bid I love this coin, don't know too much on toned value, but the grades value is around 100ish
I am thinking 2-3X bid. The toning is very attractive, but these 58-D's from the double mint set toners are very common. What I want to know is when is duffydaddy going to learn how to take a photograph of a toned coin.
Would you feel bad if somebody sniped it at 30 seconds for $141? If I really want something in this price range I will add about $20 to protect from the snipers that try and get it with under 10 seconds left $5.00 at a time. Typically they will run out of time trying to be chinsy. Just my $.02. I would also not bid again until under 1 minute. Don't let them know you are that interested.
I wouldn't bid on this coin because of the photos. They are terrible and enhanced. I am sure it is a nice coin, but I will never give a dime to that seller.
I would put money on his max at about 5 seconds to be $500. I've never seen a coin go for 3x the bid in the last 10 seconds, ever. Holy moley....
Yeah, I get the award for crappiest advice of the day. I've honestly never seen anything like that ever. Hope you were not prepared to spend $450 on it. Even at that I doubt you would have gotten it. Lehigh was right, 3x that 7 minute mark bid was what it took plus a little bump, and I still think the winners max was $500, or more.
I shouldn't really call the winning bidder a bidiot. After all, I did pay moon money for my 1958-D Franklin Half Dollar as well. I just hate that particular seller. :smile
I was building suspense! and I backed off I would have been happy paying $250.00, but wow! $422.00, Maybe I'll buy another morgan
Why do you feel like a total fool? I doubt goldstone was in the top two. My guess is that he put in the $200 sniper bid and lost.
Good call (Look up) yeah if im going to spend $400ish I'm going be buy a nice FH, or some junk silver (JK)
Now I feel better. That is a boatload of money for a Franklin, but sometimes if you really like something you have to throw the books away and pay for it. I was hoping my advice was not bad or cost you something you really wanted.
