Markings

So since I am new to this, I was wondering what type of magnifying glass I need to inspect currency and coins? I have a magnifying glass, that I bought at amazon, that supposedly is for this. Using it to look at this $20, the marking and #3 below the 7 in the serial # top left side looks to be legit error? But, of course I have been wrong in past! Thanks you

Sometimes a teller stamp will stray from the paper bundle strap.

Welcome to CT. To answer your first question, I use an inexpensive loop - 30x21mm to examine most coins and if I see something that I need to examine closer, I use my USB digital 10 to 200 power scope.
