Went to the bank and got myself a new box of pennies yesterday. I must say that I was pleased after opening! I found a total of 18 wheats: '19, '19, '27, '30-D, '36, '40-S, '41-D, '45-S, '46, '47-D, '48-D, '51-D, '51-S, '52-D, '56, '57-D, '58-D, '59-D On top of those wheats, I found a total of 10 '59's and 20 '09's and 3 Canadians. Pretty happy with this find and I thought I would share with the community! Happy searching. Ben
I remember when I used to be a bank teller that we had a few clients who would come in and buy bags of half dollars and quarters. Only having enough, I would buy a full bag of pennies at the end of the day after we filled up the bags from clients deposits. Never got lucky. One time an old lady came in with this oldish jar with coins in it that her late husband was collecting... not having the money to buy it off of her, I let the coin collector gobble them up.... Always look back and wonder what that guy had.
usually get $5.00 woth of pennies and member wrapped also, well I only found about 6 wheats and 10 canadian cents, But I seem to always get a dime or two stuck in the rolls. Yesterday was only one dime.
