A Southern California man has spent $4.8 million to purchase 26 cents. At an auction last week, the individual submitted a winning bid of $2.6 million for a 1792 penny, plus $2.2 million for a quarter from the same year. The penny was one of only 10 coins that was "experimentally produced" after the U.S. Mint was established, reported Fox News.

That Fox headline is the typical condensed idiocy we have grown used to from major news outlets these days.
