In a series about Malta's constitutional history? I doubt it. By the way, this is, or will be, a five-coin series: 2011: First Elected Representatives 1849 (hand with a ballot) 2012: Majority Representation 1887 (People celebrating in front of the governor's palace) 2013: Self Government 1921 (Maltese overlooking the islands) 2014: Independence 1964 (Woman with a flag, from the Independence Monument) 2015: Republic 1974 (Memorial at Castille Place) The design of this year's issue was modified, by the way. In the original design, several people were depicted with their arms raised; looked like a nazi salute to some. So this is the improved version. Also, for those who look at details, the "raw" 2012 commem has no mintmark while the pieces in sets have Utrecht's caduceus between the 5 o'clock and 6 o'clock stars. Christian
While I prefer "classical" occasions for such commems (200th birthday etc.), this is a nice series built around the 50th anniversary of the country's independence; see the 2014 issue. And since each euro area member state can now issue two commemorative €2 coins per year, Malta can still "angle" with other pieces. Christian
