i suggest that the u.s. mint change its coinage design frequently. like the penny and the half dollar have to be change. i also like the mint to sell american eagle uncirculated with capsule, box and c.o.a. to the public. and lastly, the mint should advertise more on its unpopular modern commemorative coins. and let the public deduct income taxes on its contribution to the program. and many more to suggest to the mint. please do so.
I'd like to see the mint put some commemorative coins into circulation instead of selling them at obscene premiums. It would also be nice if Congress authorized the return of silver coinage.
Silver Dollar Silver $20 coin -- the size of the old silver dollars. Those would be so popular, I'd love spending one of those, it's make me feel like a high roller. Plus, they could do a beautiful design on it. I don't think the half design will change unless it's the reverse -- too political to remove Kennedy. Speaking of Democrats on coinage, I think the dime could use a refresh. Again, there's no way Roosevelt would ever be removed, but the reverse is maybe the most boring and nonsensical thing I've seen in a long time. I like the Lincoln penny obverse to be honest, but again the reverse is pretty bland. They could could some cool stuff even on that small space. Abe Lincoln was pretty hard core, though. No way would he be elected now, not photogenic enough.
Since the old silver dollar was .7736 ounces of silver, it would be possible to bring it back as a $10 coin at current silver prices [but not quite a $5]. I agree it would be wildly popular and probably would become the most hoarded circulation coin in history. I wouldn't mind if they brought back the Morgan dollar design for it.
This would only make them worth melt value in 200 years. This would only benefit the Rich, they would buy 2 million in coins and pay no taxes and have 4 million in coins after 10 years ... or so. I think the U.S. Mint should increase Customer support by shipping ontime.
suggestion to u.s. mint i like design of a beautiful women wearing something like nightgown. sample of which is the philippine silver peso dated 1903 to 1912. or the british, french, and italian silver crown with pretty women on it. but these type of coins were minted during 1700's - 1800's. no way that they were be back during modern age except some bullion coins minted by british. and the american eagle gold bullion coins.
I would like a working die ID intergrated into the design. Then every coin struck could be attributed to the actual die that struck it.
The mint is only concerned with the "bleeding heart" PC crowd. How else can you explain putting SAC or the SBA designs on dollar coin obverses?? Let's not forget that the mint along with the CCAC have also deemed depictions of Liberty as "too political". Everything that Teddy Roosevelt envisioned when he spearheaded changes in US coin designs is now for not. What a shame...
What the hell? I think the SAC image is just better looking than the liberty or president images, and especially better than the Morgan or Barber designs. The SBA design is pretty ugly though, IMO.
It would be nice if they started changing the coinage design, like they use to do. After a certain number of years come up with a new design.
One if the reasons I would argue for a $20 silver coin instead of a $10 is because it would not reach melt value for some time. Also, it would be great to flip someone a 20! I like the picture of the coin someone posted on here of the woman in a flowing gown, a pretty design. I think a desig similar to the walking liberty halfs would be my favorite, but something like a peace or morgan would also be very nice. Were you serious that liberty is now politically incorrect? Sheesh! I don't like the SAC pbverse simply because it reminds me of a Disney cartoon of Sacgawea. They could have a cartoon on the back of Lewis and Clark talking with some deer as they ascended the Missouri River ... You're right the coins would be horded, but I know people would be excited to use a $20 coin. In an era when so much of our currency looks fake, a "real looking" silver coin would go over big.
future suggestions i read a topic from numismatics news. i like her proposal that a fifty state flowers be included for future penny. five state flowers per year for 10 year. just like the 50 statehood quarters. it is better to start after the quarter series end.
To "Make future suggestions to the mint" Makes as much sense as hunting grizzly bears with a pocket knife. You'll get as far with one as you well with the other.
