Just wanted to let ya'll know I've got a 7x - 17x Macro lens on the way for my Sony MVC-FD91. I'm pretty stoked as everywhere I checked said there was no such thing. Except these folks, I contacted http://www.bugeyedigital.com/ and they built one to my requirements for under $100 with shipping. Yes, BUILT one, by attaching two different len's and some other stuff that I'm not familiar with, etc.

    Hooray

Although I used to be a photographer (read: using lenses costing $2,500+ each), I am far from a lens snob, and have found perfectly good lenses for under $200 that do a great job (although they are often on the slow side). I'm not sure that this "built" $100 job will do what you want it to do, with any type of quality. I'll hope that I'm wrong, but personally I would have gone another route.

Other than buying a new camera:goof: this was the only option I had as the 57mm lens of the FD91 had me pretty limited.

Honestly, I would have put the money towards another camera than buy a low quality lens for an older 0.8MP camera. At some point you are going to want to replace it (if given enough reasons) and I think you'd like an interchangeable lens one like the Canon Digital Rebel or Nikon's D70S. More expensive but worth it, while still being reasonable.

But what is done is done. Next time.

I only get what the wife pass's down to me, LOL. She has some fantastic Kodak DCS Pro (The Nimbus 2000) which still doesn't take any better pics than the old Sony I use now.

P.S. I'm not allowed to go near it, LOL :D

Sounds like something she told you to keep you away. I assure you it does. Next time she goes out to get milk... post a side by side.

    ;)
