Finally got a coin of macrinus, plus it came in syrian tet flavor...which i dig.

Syria, Seleucis and Pieria. Emesa. Macrinus, 217-218 AD. AR Tetradrachm
O: laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right. R: eagle standing facing, head left, holding wreath in beak; between legs, radiate and draped bust of Shamash left. Prieur 1015. 27 mm, 12.9 g

i assumed the little guy below the eagle was sol, but i guess it's shamash...he was a mesopotamian (in origin anyway) sun god, so pretty similar to sol or maybe closer to mithra.

feel free to post any coins of macrinus!

Macrinus tet has been on my shopping list for a while, and that's a nice one. I have a Macrinus Antioch piece:

Congrats on the score, Chris, that's a good-looking tet. I have an as that needs rephotographing, but here's denarius.
