    Macrinus and Diadumenian, 217-218AD

    AE27, Marcianopolis, Moesia Inferior

    Obverse: AV K OPEL CEVH MAKREINOC K M OPEL-ANTWNEI-NOC, laureate, draped, cuirassed bust of Macrinus right facing bare-headed, draped, cuirassed bust of Diadumenian left.

    Reverse: VP PONTIANOV MARKIANOPOLEITWN, Apollo, naked, standing left by altar, holding branch and patera. E in right field.

    References: Moushmov 540; Var of AMNG 728; SNG Cop. 222; SNG Budapest 131; Varbanov 1155 (position of value mark).
