    Thanks!

    Hello and Welcome !
    Hard to tell , take pics with cell phone is better than your grainy Microscope pics ?
    Could be DDD ( Die Deterioration doubling ) . Either way NAV , No added value . Nice year by the way , just saying . :D

    I'm also leaning towards die deterioration doubling, but as Sal said, it really doesn't mater if it's MD or DDD. Neither are considered errors and add no extra value.

    Thank you. I’m not really concerned with the added value. I’m still trying to learn all of the different doubling possibilities.

    @Scott White

    If you don't have the following site bookmarked, check out:

    http://www.doubleddie.com/144801.html

    John Wexler does a good job of explaining the different types of worthless doubling. While you're there, take the time to look at the pics of true doubled dies, paying attention to split serifs, and wider devices and the other characteristics Wexler lists. Best way to learn is to look at lots of examples.

    Thank you. I have been using that. Just not 100% comfortable making that determination lol.

    edited: it actually has a bit of both MD & DDD, which is also common...

    hey Scott White i just wanted to show this, i used a photo program to smooth out the surrounding parts of your coin so that the letters U and M could stand out. one of the things i look for on a coin like yours is if the letters have a shelf like appearance. yours clearly does. i hope this helps. good luck brother
