My largest German coin to date. 36mm, a bit over 17g. Not quite a thaler, but much larger than my other German coins!

I really like the arms on this coin. Crown, sword, little birds (pheasants? partidges?), a lovely ornate frame.

The coin is AU55 and has an overall nice light iridescence.

I like it. The German States produced a lot of cool silver pieces.

    Very handsome!

My only 24-mariengroschen at present is a "Wildman", from Brunswick-Lüneberg-Calenberg-Hannover. Also a lightly toned NGC AU55.

They're indeed nice, big coins. Not quite a thaler, like you said, but 2/3 thaler, which is still a pretty respectable size.

Martlets, maybe? Martlets got used a lot in heraldic devices. Can you tell if they have feet? I can't, quite, from the pic. Martlets were apparently footless (mythical) birds.

These do appear to have feet... Either way, they're cute.
